Exploring Shanghai

We did some exploring last weekend on the ONE day that it hasn't rained since Felipe has been here. Apparently they call April the "rainy" season and that indeed it has been.

French Concesssion neighborhood which is so cute - we plan to explore this neighborhood much more!

Felipe winning big at the China Sports Lottery - we bet on Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs (Cavaliers and Celtics covered the spread)

Luxury stores going up literally EVERYWHERE. It's crazy!

Area called "Taikang Lu" that is comprised of a series of "lanes" that are like small alleys filled with art shops, photography, jewelry, wine bars, small restaurants, etc. It is very cool!!
Model like structure showing the Taiking Lu area

Xintandai - very expat/overpriced area but super cute restaurants and bars.

Eating Hot Pot - one of the better meals we've had all for about $15USD. You order a soup base, then order the extras like raw meats, vegetables and shrimp balls below that you dip in the boiling soup to cook. They have a huge "make it yourself" sauce station with sesame paste, fish sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, cilantro, chopped peanuts, etc.

Shrimp Balls - soooo yummy!

Will post more pics from this past weekend. It's a beautiful day out today (It's Saturday!)
